Kuryłowicz + Associates is an architectural practice with a strong and distinctive legacy, whose architectural language has long been defined by a dialogue between form, function, and urban context. Yet in an increasingly global and digital communication landscape, the name—while highly meaningful locally—was losing clarity and scalability. The challenge was to create a system that would preserve the studio’s identity while opening it up to an international audience and contemporary modes of communication.

The existing visual identity was difficult to adapt across dynamic digital channels and did not effectively support the brand’s international perception. What was missing was a shorthand that could be functional, memorable, and meaningful at the same time. The goal was to simplify communication without diluting the studio’s character—retaining the architectural precision and intellectual depth that define the practice.

The architecture of Kuryłowicz & Associates is built on the tension between structure and gesture—between the rationality of construction and the expressiveness of form. This same duality became the foundation of the visual identity: a mark conceived as a point of intersection, where axes, directions, and perspectives meet. Inspiration came from drafting ink—a medium that is both precise and organic—as well as from the distinctive cuts and linear geometries found throughout the studio’s projects.

The new identity is built around the abbreviation K+A—clear, international, and functional—while emphasizing Architects as a key element of the brand’s communication. At its core is the “+” symbol, interpreted as a connector, an intersection of axes, a point of tension, and a sign of collaboration. Its form emerged from an analysis of perspectival intersections and the geometries present in the studio’s architecture, including projects such as Prosta Tower. The custom typography, inspired by the Denim Ink typeface, references the qualities of ink drawing, combining technical precision with subtle irregularities to create a distinctive and proprietary character. The visual system is based on lines, intersections, and scale, enabling dynamic compositions that guide the eye and structure content in much the same way architecture organizes space. The result is a flexible visual language that performs equally well across large-scale architectural applications and highly refined digital interfaces, maintaining a balance between discipline and expression, local roots and global relevance.
