Maison Polonaise

A peaceful retreat in the Olympic buzz. Paris 2024.

  • Background

Olympic Hospitality Houses serve as "embassies" during the Olympic Games. They provide a space for athletes, fans, and journalists to connect, while also functioning as fan zones. Their primary purpose is to promote the host country in terms of culture, tourism, business, and economic potential.
Maison Polonaise, or the Polish House, made its debut on the Olympic House map in Paris in 2024, exactly one hundred years after Poland’s first participation in the Olympic Games, where it won its first medals.
  • Challenge

When creating the first Polish Olympic House, we aimed to break away from traditional ways of promoting Poland abroad. Our goal was to stand out among other national houses and rank among the top five best-rated Olympic Houses - all while working within a limited budget.
  • Insight

Every national team that establishes an Olympic House develops its own unique concept. During the Olympics, Paris is a city bursting with attractions, excitement, and constant movement. Inspired by this, we designed a space that would contrast with the city's intensity, a place of relaxation and tranquility amid the Olympic buzz.
  • Solution

Our venue was located in a 19th-century pavilion in the Bois de Boulogne, away from the main sporting venues. Unlike other Olympic Houses, the Polish House became a green oasis in the heart of Paris, offering visitors a taste of Poland’s peaceful summer retreat.

The visual identity was centered around geometric shapes inspired by the dynamism of sports. We developed a flexible graphic system that could be easily implemented across various media formats, both digital and print. A broad color palette served as a navigational tool within the Polish House and promotional materials, reinforcing the positive and energetic spirit of the event.
